How RGN freight brokerage works
A removable gooseneck trailer, or RGN, is built for equipment. The front section of the trailer detaches from the tractor and lowers to the ground, turning the deck into a ramp so machinery can be driven straight on. With a deck that sits much lower than a flatbed or step deck, an RGN can carry taller and heavier equipment. We arrange RGN shipments with authorized carriers experienced in equipment moves and coordinate the loading details with you in advance.

How RGN loading works
The removable gooseneck is what separates an RGN from other trailers. Once the gooseneck is detached, the front of the deck rests on the ground and the equipment is driven onto the trailer under its own power. The gooseneck is then reattached and the load is secured with chains and binders.
Because the equipment drives on, there is usually no need for a crane or forklift at pickup or delivery, which is a major advantage at job sites and equipment yards.
Height and weight on an RGN
An RGN deck typically sits about 18 to 24 inches off the ground, which leaves room for equipment roughly 11 feet 6 inches to 12 feet tall within common legal height limits. Carrying capacity depends heavily on the trailer's axle configuration. Heavier equipment may need a trailer with additional axles and, beyond legal limits, state permits.
